I can not find a short and every time I replacen the 20amp fuse it blowes imediately, does anyone have any suggestions?

Start unplugging stuff till it stops. Handle bar switches, blinkers, tail light.

I had a short in the wires going to the tail light under the fender. Weak shocks.

I had to do that trying to find a bad connection a while back. Not too many connectors on the harness so you should be able to narrow it down in a few minutes.

Think logically and pay attention to details. You say immediately. Is that with the key and kill switch set to off? If so, look for an exposed wire in your main harness or switches. If immediately is when you turn the key to on, focus on the things that come alive with the key (lights/horn). Pulling the 5 pin connector under the seat eliminates the back half and the 8 pin in the headlight shell for front half. The horn is not marked with polarity, but I can tell you from experience that reversing the wires will not read a short and blow the fuse as soon as the key is turned on every time. Good luck

Look at the rear fender area where the wires go through the hole, or in the channel underside of fender.....

My 750 had a short in the harness, right after it came out of the tank and into the headlight. It took forever to find. I only found because that area had heated up.

Your main 'big' fuse powers the head, tail, ignition fuses, fed through the ignition switch.

The fact that your main fuse is blowing instantly makes me think the problem will most likely be between the fusebox , to ignition switch, and back to the other fuses. Usually white/red
from battery + to main fuse, and white to ignition switch.

If your other 10 amp fuses were blowing but the 20 amp main fuse was intact I'd think otherwise. Try lifting the tail and headlight fuse out and see if the problem remains.

The Z1's only had one fuse.

first day off in two weeks is tomorrow I will check under the fender, thank you

by immediately I mean as soon as the battery terminal touches the cable the fuse blows. I was thinking maybe a bad starter solenoid, more troubleshooting tomorrow. thank you
