Hi
I just receive the Dyna S this morning to replace the pickup coils on my 1980 kz1000B4 ltd. This is a transistorize model with the IC igniter.

Now the question : Do i still need this IC igniter box?

The instruction coming with the Dyna S doesn't mention anything about the IC igniter, so i'm about to ask if i bought the right kit to replace my faulty pickup coils.

Thanks

Here's my understanding - - -

Igniter box is NOT used with Dyna-S.

Stock coils (1.2-1.9 ohms) are likely to burn out with the Dyna-S, and should be replaced with 3.0 ohm coils (such as the green Dyna 3 ohm coils designed to work with the Dyna-S ignition), and the oem ballast resistor should also be removed from the circuit.

Good Luck! :)

Yes, i forgot to specified that i already put the green dyna coils last season.

Anyway, i just installed the Dyna S, (trying without the ic ignitor) and everything is fine, except the white smoke coming out of the left pipe, but it's going to be another tread one day...
