The problem was what I feared, the stator. I changed the rec/reg and the rotor first because I had spares on hand. Seeing this did not fix the problem, I pulled the stator off my number one bike and installed it on the red bike. I am getting a nice 15.1 vdc across the battery, same reading I was getting on the number 1 bike. Trying to keep three old bikes up is an adventure. It is never the same problem either. Anyway, enough whining, two bikes are on the road....chris3
