Well I finally got my Dyna-S modul and coils with new Dyna wires. While I was at it I did the Wired George low voltage mod.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!!!!!!!!!

Where the spark was hardly visible before I now get a bright blue hard spark. I had to back the idle down about 500 RPM. The bike pulls twice as hard thoughout the gears and speed range.

I am very happy and it was well worth the work and expense.

True dat, 4R. The DynaS is a great set it an' ferget it, especially if you're not planning on doing any heavy mods to the bike.

hi cow_man just a word of warning with the dyna s and a kz650 the charging system may not be up to the task of charging correctly. I tried the dyna s and had to go back to points after 3 months of trying to figure out my charging problem. good luck hope it works out for you. Bob
78 KZ 650B2. Vetter faring, Dyna S, Dyna Green coils, WG coil mod,AGM Battery, VM26SS carbs, Pilot jet 15, mains 110, jet clip #2 shimmed position, Modified stock air box, stock air filter, Kerker 4 into 1 with stock baffle. currently 48,785 miles. :-) and climbing daily.:-)

hi all,

ive just ordered a dyna ignitition, do they fit
straight to the stock coils or do i have to go for new
dyna coils?

Dyna S works just fine on a KZ650 with stock coils, like I said in the other charging postings, all total I've got over 200,000 miles on KZ650s with Dyna ignitions with zero problems all on stock coils. I tried Dyna coils and could tell no difference and the crappy wire's I used turned to junk so back stock on the coils ever since. Last summer the plug between the stator and reg/rect burned up, so I had a problem there and simply wired direct. That's the only hint of charging problem I've ever had.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.
