Hi, i've just started riding about 6 months ago and i'm getting tired of some of the problems my dad's old bike has.

The blinker does not blink on the right side, but the left side does. when you hit the right blinker switch, the front right light turns off and the back stays on, and the switch on the panel goes on. we tried replacing the front blinker to no avail, and also we tried just taking out the back one, and that made it so that the panel light stayed on all the time.

Several thing to do:
1. Remove all four turn signal lenses.
2. Check for corrosion in the bulb sockets and clean if required.
3. Check the ground connections from the turn signals to the main harness.(inside the headlight shell and under the seat).
4. Replace the turn signal flasher.
5. Clean the turn signal switch inside the handle bar pod.
6. Go through the wiring harness and clean any green crud of corrosion on/in the electrical connectors(bullet connectors and square or rectangular ones).
7. Install new light bulbs.
8. Try again.

is there any way that i don't need to replace/clean the whole blinker assembly. i don't think it would be the flasher because the light blinker does flash.

It's nothing more than a small metal can with a bi-metal strip that heats up when electric current is applied causing the circuit to flash. I do not mean the dashboard assembly on the handle bars with the indicator lights.
