Not that I think that my reserve lighting device is not working properly, I just want to clean up the wiring and I think bypassing this will help. I dont know where it mounts any way, it just hangs by my air box.

Yes. It's not too difficult to bypass it out, if you have a wiring diagram.

The reserve lighting device or system is designed to have the high beam come on if the low beam burns out. The high beam will operate at a lower voltage. This will enable you to get home and replace the bad bulb.

From what I understand it is supposed to switch from one filament , either high or low, to the other if one were to burn out.
