How can I stop my speedo/tahco jumping through a range of about 15-20mph/1000rpms? I've only had the bike a couple of weeks, a 1982 KZ550. Is this something I should just learn to live with bearing in mind the bikes 26 years old? thanks in advance. CluelessOne

Which is jumping, the speedo or the tach? Or Both? Remove cable then remove cable from sheath and inspect. It'll only come out one end. Check the ends especially and then look for fraying. If all looks good. Grease up the cable and slide it back into the sheath and re-install. If not buy another cable. GLuck!
