I found two coils from a couple of 440 with electronic ign. They both check 3 to 4 ohms on the input side and 23,000 on the output side. They have screw on plug wire verses my old 650 coils has molded wires, can they be used on a 650 has anybody done this? Second Question plugs caps on the 650 coils are the original type with resistors built in the plug cap, is there any disadvantage to using the direct plug wire caps.? I know they make a radio goes nuts in a car but when you want spark they give out all the coil has.

Getting rid of the resitor caps may work OK. It will increase the radiated EMI which may or may not hurt anything. If there is circuitry which is vulnerable to EMI it could get buzzed. The engine control module or EFI module maybe, but I don't think your engine has those.
