Went to Run to the local kawasaki dealer and I thought awsome Ill be able to roll up on some old school muscle. ya know? Well it didnt quite go to plan.

I got on the bike turn the key, push the magic button!...

and Had no power to my ignition system.

What happened at last I can remember. I had a BUNCH of people over lookin at a 750 CSR I just brought back to life after 5 Years. Women there etc etc. So I roll the old beast out fire her up rev it, ride around the block.

First problem. My nuetral light no longer illuminates. I have a 10 amp fuse that will pop when I turn push the start button I think. Now My question is are the nuetral switch wires tied into the ignition at any point? Im wondering If this wire by the engine has finally sucome to the heat of all the years...And where in the world should I start to find this short?

My 750 L-3 was having similar problems, after checking everything out on the positive side of things I decided to check the ground side of things. The 6mm bolt that attaches to the engine cases snapped off due to being corroded I just attached it to one of the clutch cover bolts and problem solved. It might not hurt to have a look at this on your bike.

Found it. In my haste to put everything back together with a new valve cover gasket I pinched the black wire coming down from the kill switch.

You could have started the bike by turning your key on to get the coils power and taken a screwdriver and put it across the big poles on your solenoid. It looks VERY old school to start a bike that way. Also, the black wire from your kill switch is the trigger for your solenoid. I can't imagine why it would be hanging loose in the valve cover area... buy a roll of electrical tape and tape those wires up where they belong... in the wiring harness!

It has a black sleeve over it. But I managed to get the like Inch that is exposed so it can plug into its mate.

I had to start our 80' police bike by jumping the seloniod terminals for awhile. That was a trip.
