Looks identical to the one on a 79-80 750 twin, so you might check the parts diagrams at kawasaki.com and see what models share that part.

That thing you are showing in the initial post doesn't likely come off an 82 bike. It has an on/off switch for the headlight. I think by 82, the headlight doesn't have an on/off switch. It looks like a KZ900 switch except instead of on/off, it is ON / PO / OFF where the PO is for parking lights or something (can't recall).

A lot of the controls have the opening for the switch, but most are just capped off.
Take one apart, and there is a place to mount the switch, but there's no wiring for one.

It had chopped up parts from a gpz harness when i first got it. THINK the reg/rec if from a gpz, it thes only thing on the new harness that didnt match up. (2 female connectors). So i wouldnt be surprised if it was from a honkasuzyaha. It worked oddly enough, right connector to the harness too.But the no start button thing is killing me. I have it rigged up to a simple auto parts push button switch, but i dont want to rig anything, id like to see the right part on there. Think i found one, will know tomorrow, but would still like to keep it in the family so to speak. Its coming together nicely too, keep meaning to post pics, but..
