So I finished putting all my wiring back together and (so far) have only run into two problems.

1) Horn is stuck on, i'm really not concerned with this though.

2) This is the actual problem. The turn signals are all messed up.

2a: The left turn signal stays on all the time, when I switch over to use it I get a lot of faster than usual clicking but no blinking. I am assuming this is because I put the black wire that used to be attached to the inside of the signal lamp somewhere it wasnt supposed to be. But i have no idea...

2b: the turn signal switch itself doesnt seem to want to work. It seems like a very simple mechanism. could I have jammed it in there wrong or bent it or something? I can move it side to side but it doesnt seem to be going far enough to actually turn anything.

I took off, then put back in, a coppery looking U shaped piece from inside the housing. pretty sure it was just there to hold some wires back. not sure. still frustrated.

What did you do before you started experiencing the problems?

Is it possible you crimped your wires when you re-mounted the switches?

I'd say that's very possible. I soldered the new connections in but I am by no means an electrician. That sound like my problem?

What I did was install new bars and turn signals. So it could either be this third black wire (which I assume is a ground) that attached to the turn signal lamp itself and is now just attached to the headlight case. Or it could be something in the switch box itself.

Every Kawasaki ground wire that I have seen is black with yellow stripe.

I've taken a few control pods apart and have never seen a copper strip used to hold any wires, that one might be part of the turn signal switch.

The faster than usual clicking but no blinking probably means that you have the wire grounded that's supposed to go to the turn signal bulb.

Steve, The ground wire off the KZ900/1000 solenoid which connects to the ground on the rectifier is a BLACK wire for some reason on some models. I suspect it is because the solenoid came from a vendor that didn't have black/yellow wire. Also, the main battery ground wire is solid black but that isn't a normal wire.
