Well I had been working on tuning up my carbs and installed an electronic ignition as well, and I got out to test it and then I take a turn and the blinkers won't work properly. The didn't seem to come on at all. When I got home I took a close work and there were veeeeery dim lights flashing on the display panel. I replaced the flasher that is higher up, and now I have a nice and bright blinker, but they both blink no matter which way I switch them (left or right). Any ideas what would cause both to blink at the same time?? Thanks!

It sounds like your 4 way flasher switch may be on at the same time,,, it should be pulled out to be off.

Is the 4-way flasher switch the one flasher that is underneath the starter solenoid? I pulled that off and tried the blinkers and it made no difference, all of the blinkers flashed together

holy crap do i feel stupid. the switch was pushed in.

When I first got the bike, i tried pushing that in to see if it worked, nothing happened when i pushed it so i figured it didn't work. I didn't realize that once you push it in, you have to press a turn signal.

Thanks for the simple solution! Sorry for the dumb question!

Actually, you don't have to turn on one of the signals for the 4 way flashers to work, pushing the switch in should make the flashers work on their own. It sounds like either the other flasher for the four ways is bad, or there is a problem with the wiring to the four ways.

oh ok as long as im not oompletely out to lunch! Yea I'm not sure why it does that. It will flash hazard only if the hazard switch is pushed in, plus turning the signal one way. But if not pressed in, the blinkers act normal
