Hey guys, this is my first post here and I just bought a 1982 Kawasaki CSR 750 with 8k mi for $30. It has good compression but no spark. I cant get power to anything. Now I have found a blown fuse, a striped wire, and 2 wires connected that I don't think should be. If I could get someone to tell me where these wires are suppose to go or give me a wiring schematic that would be great. I know the bike needs some paint and some major cleaning but I need to hear it run first. If you have any good links for info on this kind of bike that would be helpful also. Thanks.

Welcome George4...$30.00!?!?! Wow. But, there is a wiring diagram posted, for your bike, under 'KZ Information', then under 'filebase', then under '1982', then under your bike. It is a pdf file so you'll need the free reader.

The ignition wiring is simple...

Battery -> Kill Switch -> Coil primary -> Ground through Points.

Check primary and secondary resistance through the coil, get new plugs and probably plug caps.

Clean the fuel passages, get fresh gas and Vrooom!

Now why can't I find a bike for $30?

82 KZ750 CSR is a twin with electronic ignition, so you probably ought to wire the igniter in also

Wow, that was just what I needed. Thanks a lot, now I will try to get this figured out.
