OK where do i begin.....HAHA!

Basically this bike was rebuilt with all new wiring from the previous owner. The bike is a 75 z1 with KZ1000 top end.

Here is the problem the starter switch will turn the bike over with the ignition switch off. there is an extra wire coming from the front of the bike that will turn the headlight on when it touches the battery. However when i switch the ignition on the same headlight will turn on. The Reg/Rec is a new combo one with 3 yellow going to what appears to be the stator underneath. the black/white wire ground to the frame and the red going to the battery. I noticed when i ran the bike im having to hold the throttle to keep it alive. I checked the fuses and the main 20 amp fuse was real hot.

I just need some direction here also to note all the wires on the bike are RED. So im lost and i know im not that far off.
