My rear brake switch (the switch that turns on the rear brake light) sticks in the on position and I'm wondering if these are servicable? Can they be taken apart?

Mine gets activated alright but just doesn't seem to have enought strength to turn off once the brake pedal is released. I'm thinking there must be a spring in it somewhere and it's either catching on something or is too weak to return the switch to the off position.

I fiddled with my switch for about 10 minutes until I broke it, then bought one from Z1.

I've fought them too, and back in the old days I had a nickname "switchmeister" because working on mech switches was my specialty at work. They cannot be disassembled, all you can do is oil the plunger a little and hope that fixes it, but even if it does chances are the switch will stick again in a short time. Throw it away is the thing to do.

Spray it with WD40, giving it a good soaking.
Can't hurt.

Thanks guys, I was afraid of that. I did spray some Rust Check in there a few days ago but it never seemed to work. I just wished I had tested this before I ordered some things from Z1.

Thanks again.
