Somehow, someway, I managed to get a banana spider inside my speedometer and he is making a cozy little nest. This pisses me off cause now the needle gets stuck in webbing every time
I reach 40mph. Anyone have a clue as to how to get the little f***** out and keep them out? I'm worried the tach is next. Too bad he didn't climb into the exhaust instead.
I know it would not be any fun if it was easy, but does it have to be this much fun?

I have a dead spider in mine and do not know how to remove it. I tap the glass and spray compressed air in there and he will not budge.

If you find out how to get the spedo apart please send me a heads up on how to complete the process.

give him a banana to crawl into and maybe he will pack up and move out? lfmao You hear something new every time.
There is a ring that goes around the gauges and it is not something that will be easy to do. There is a special tool. If you want to spend some money and make them look like new you can look up this guy at z1enterprises.com and there is a link there to get your gauges restored and it explains how he takes them apart which is not something I would mess with.
You could flush him out with liquid perhaps after the little guy soaked for awhile he may disintegrate and come out. I dunno that is a tough one.

GOT HIM!
The removal and disassembly is easy, but be very careful if you want it to appear in the same condition. Disconnect the speedo cable and unscrew the single screw on the bottom of the speedo casing. Then pull it off and undo the two screws holding it into the bracket. You then have to pry up the metal ring and then pull the upper and lower halves apart. Clean as needed and then re-install. Just be careful with the ring.
I know it would not be any fun if it was easy, but does it have to be this much fun?

I didn't even think of that. But then, I don't drink coffee. I just crimped the ring on with my gerber with a piece of shop rag between the jaws and the ring. I met with mixed results in regard to preserving the finish, but the ring is back on securely.
