OK, I hope you electrical gurus can help me here. I swapped my conventional turn signals for LED's on my KZ650. Now they don't blink. Every once in a while they will flash once and stop. I swapped out the relay for a modern electronic one but no difference. The conventional ones worked prior to the swap. Any suggestions

I know on the regular systems, there has has to be enough resistance in order to activate the flashing unit. I once tried some other flasher lights that had a 3W bulb. Did not work. Put in the regular bulb (10W?) it worked.
So I assume you would need a flasher unit that will work with the low wattages of LED lights.

LED turn sgnals only work with a solid state flasher because they don't pull enough current to make a bi-metallic flasher open and close. I posted a schematic of one a while back. many places sell them.

The exact same thing happened to me way back when I made the switch. For me, believe it or not, the fix was to top off the fluid in my battery.

The new "electronic" flasher required more power than my low battery had to open and close its relay. I never notice bad batteries because I always kick start. Now, when my blinkers stop working, I know my battery is low on fluid.... really low... ;)

OK I found the problem. Apparently the electronic relay can be wired incorrectly, as I found out, yeah I know how do you screw up two wires. On the old relay it did not make a difference which wire went to which terminal. Well the electronic one is not so forgiving. I swapped the wires and now it works great.
