So last nights storm in Tulsa/Jenks was pretty intense, especially the hail. I had my bike JUST under the awning to my house.. It got a little wet, but for the most part didnt get drenched, well the ground underneath the kickstand held too much water and gave way, bike toppled over and was most likely there for 20 minutes or so.

I tried starting it today... and no go, it has power, lights come on, fuses are ok, battery is charged, etc. Just nothing when I hit the start button. I disassembled the housing and it didnt seem like it had been damaged at all, and it was fairly dry.

What could be the problem?

Quickies.....in gear?, Kill Switch? Wha kind of bike? Got a kick starter? Does it even make a sound when you push the starter button? Solenoid clicking?

Its a 1992 GSF400, Suzuki.

No kick start, kill switch is disengaged, rather engine run switch is set to "on" and the solenoid clicks over when that is done, start button makes no sound no activity.

loosen the ignition cover and dry it out and drain the carb bowls if any.
pods=wet watery carbs due to rain gets sucked into the carbs when you try starting it after the storm.

water may have gotten by the cover over the ignition pickups.

Might have some water in the switch housing.

Could try spraying some WD40 (Water Displacement) into the switches. Won't hurt and might help. :)

Ive tried most of these remedies.

I also have a broken clutch lever, it snapped at the focal point, and i have to rig it each time to engage the clutch, maybe this is the cause? Its still a no go on the button!

I have not ripped the whole housing off to inspect the button itself, Im trying to avoid that, I dont have a replacement at the moment :/
