When buying a battery on-line, the electrolyte is typically not included (perhaps never), so you have to source the sulfuric acid locally. This seems problematic, since the purity & concentration of the solution can't be verified. A fellow rider took his battery to a place to get it filled: it was done in the back out of sight. Who knows what was added? For charging/battery problems this would be a source of unwanted uncertainty & frustration. JMK.

Post edited by: JMKZHI, at: 2008/02/16 10:32

Just went through this silliness with a battery or two on my scooters. You are correct, internet batteries are shipped dry. You must find the acid yourself. In my area, this is what I found:

Walmart does NOT sell acid separately, but may include it with the battery (they do carry a few for KZ's).

Oreilly's does sell acid but in bulk (approx. 4 liter containers).

Advance Auto does sell acid and in approx. 1 liter containers (perfect for many mc batteries)
