Can I use two wire rear signals in place of the one wire w/seperate ground at the stem?
I am currently using the one wire signals from my 79 1000 on my 77 650. I am replacing those signals with new ones as the old ones are pitted.

Could check to see if the 2-wire turn signal uses a dual-filament bulb (one wire for running light and the other wire for blinking), which would also have a separate third ground wire.

Am guessing the 2-wire turn signal may function similar to a taillight-brakelight which also uses 2 wires to the bulb and a third to ground. :)

(But I guess wrong a lot.)

Never thought about it that way. I guess I didn't pay attention to the bulb style when I them apart last fall. I'll check them out once it warms up around here.
It's warmed up to minus 6:pinch:

Yes you can use two wire rear signals in place of the one wire w/seperate ground.
With newer signals that have two wires, one is power & one is ground.

Thanks,
I was hoping to hear that as I don't much care for the one wire style.
Just thinking that the ones from my 1000 might not be stock....
