Does anyone know the coil ohms on an 81 kz650csr? What plug wires are recommended? and what is the differnce in performance between suppression and copper core wires?

Suppresor wires have some signitficant resistance in them, copper wires don't. Since the plug wires are in series with an air gap (at the spark plug) some meg Ohms of resistance in the conductor doesn't lower the open circuit voltage much at the plug (because an air gap's resistance is VERY high). The idea of suppressor wires is to reduce radiated electrical noise. If you don't have a radio on the thing, they offer no advantage.

Bountyhunter, I was kinda thinkin that, so thanks for the info.

JMKZHI, so I can get a 2.2 ohm coil if I need it and that should be the right one.
Doesn't 18k ohms seem like a lot in the secondary? I was thinking it would be as little as possible.

Thanks guys, I am going to get some good copper plug wires right now. Tomorrow on to WG mod!! Any quick tips on that?

Crawford, the 18K is normal for secondary windings. The secondary windings resistance will be between 12 and 24K Ohms for most bikes.
