Not sure if this should go in the engine section or not but since it is a switch, I figured here. ;)

My oil light hasn't been coming on for a few weeks and while I have the bike apart, decided to troubleshoot it. If I manually ground the wire where it connects to the oil pressure switch, it lights up fine. So, I know the wiring from the bulb down to the switch is good. Interestingly, when I measure the voltage on the B/R going to the switch, I'm getting about 8-9 volts.

So, it looks like the actual switch is bad. Is there a way to test it to make sure? Also, I noticed that the switch itself is leaking oil. I take it that that is a bad sign?

New that part is over $50. Anyone know what they go for used and where I could get one? I'm already looking on ebay.

The age old method of testing is ground the wire if the light comes on the switch is usually bad.if it is leaking oil it should be replaced anyway otherwise someone might mistake it for a Hardly ableson
