I wasn't going to post this, but I know Bluemeanie is bored and requested more posts, so...

The other day I must have accidently snagged the starter button when I hung the helmet on my right handle bar. I found it laying on the garage floor.

So I decided to make one while I was at work. I found this plastic wing nut as a donor part.

Now what am I going to use to whittle this thing down? Hmmm, I bet I could use the drill press as a lathe. Now I know it's not a great idea, but it's a heavy duty drill press, and I'm pretty sure the bearings can handle it and it's just a plastic piece so here we go..

Thanks loudhvx, looks like something I would do! I'm a mechanic and very creative when it comes to fabrication. Must have been a slow day at work? Gonna still buy the new button or does pride (understandable) keep the fabricated button in place? ;) EXCELLANT fabrication by the way!!
