The Dyna uses twice as much power as stock. Check your voltage while the bike is revving. If you are using high power halogens andthe Dyna ignition, you may be draining the battery at lower speeds.

Has the WiredGeorge coil mod been done? Check your voltage at the ignition coils.
Pretty much has to be one of 3 things, the other 2 already mentioned:

Not charging properly/low voltage.
Low voltage at the coils.
Or the most probable maybe? Timing set incorrectly.

Instead of spending money at the shop, I would suggest using the money to purchase a strobe-type timing light.

It's fun and super-easy to check and adjust the ignition timing, whether points or electronic, and simultaneously watch the advancer unit operate back and forth.

Actually, the ignition timing should have been done when the Dyna ignition was installed.

And compared to an winter overbore job, ignition timing is a 60 second piece of cake. :)

If you set the timing at the time of installation according to the Dyna instructions it should be pretty close. Get yourself a timing light and you will know for sure. I found mine was 100% dead on just set according to the dyna instructions. Been awhile since I did that but I think you needed a multimeter? Did you set it like that when you installed it? If not then you will need to adjust the timing, probably lucky it runs at all :)

you do need a timing light to set it the right way, and you do not need the high dollar ones either, do you have a book of any type for your bike? need that also
