This might be easy for someone to answer.

I just got pieces parts to convert my machine to Kawasaki electronic ignition.

Some of the parts are fine.

The ignitor is a different story. Some of the wires are cut, and I don't know what should be connected to what. So maybe someone can answer my color coding questions.

There are eight wires, in two 4-wire harnesses.

The first harness is cut about 4 inches from the ignitor and that harness contains a red, yellow, black, and blue wire.

The second harness runs out to a four-prong connector. It contains a yellow with a red tracer, a black with a white or maybe yellow tracer, a green, and a black wire.

I don't know if the thing will work. But maybe with some help, it will.

Thanks in advance.

One group of four will have skinny wires. They are black, blue, yellow, and red. They go to the matching color wires from the pickups.

The other group of four are:
Red, or yellow/red: Power to the module from switched 12v source. This should get its power from the same place the coils get their power.

Yellow/black: Ground. this must be a good, solid ground going to the battery negative or other reliable ground wire. Don't rely on the frame.

Black: This goes to the negative side of the 1,4 coil.

Green: This goes to the negative side of the 2,3 coil.

There are several ways the timing can be 180 degrees out (meaning 1,4 fires when 2,3 should fire and vice versa). Make sure the advancer rotor's tip is pointing toward the pickup with the black and blue wires when the #1 and #4 cylinders are near TDC. (That is the rear pickup.)

HoRaY!!!

Lou and crew came through!

Thanks for the link and details.

If it doesn't work, the next step will be an attempt at fabrication.

Another project, for another day.
