Put in some Dyna Green coils. I use them and love them.
I could not trust any 30 year old coil, no matter how good it looks.

I believe Jeff carries them.

I'm looking at coils, too. Haven't members been having problems with the Dyna coils? What other choices are there?

I prefer the Accel 3.0-ohm super coils. They come with wires and can be made to fit in the stock location on a 650 if you file the holes a little bigger on the frame.

I think Z1 was selling Emgo coils which look just like the stockers, if I recall.

I have a set of 84 GPZ coils with the connectors physically on the coil and w/ the replaceable plug wires, no caps, that I pulled when troubleshooting my no start.

They weren't the problem.

$20 sounds right.
84 GPZ750. Modded with stock Kawasaki parts: ZR-7 shock, ZX-6 coils, GPZ1100 throttle, EN454 brake, GPZ900 fuse box, etc. and non stock: Ken Sears mirrors, K&N filter, Pirelli Sport Demons.

How do you test old coils to find out whether they're good, or not?

You are asking if there are good, 30-year-old OEM coils available for a 30 year-old bike.

There is newer technology that works as well as or better.

Honda CBR coils at 3 ohms worked for me when it was time for a change.

Let him do his OWN research. I assume since he is a cheapazoid it didn't occur to him that your time doing research is entitled to compensation.
