I bought this expensive LED tail-light bulb that was supposed to flash in little circles for the running light and blink brightly for the brake light.

I put it in and it worked while the engine was off. I tested it at the store. Great.

Later that week I got pulled over for no brake light.

Seems that while the engine is running something is fouling the curcuit? While the engine is running, the light just sputters and flashes uncontrolably. It is the same for running lights and for tail lights.

The cop and I tested it while the engine was off, and it worked just fine again. Start the motor and it is back to malfunctioning.

Is it that the older bikes cannot support the flashing LED lights?

Do I need to put in some type of filter?

Did I waste 30 bucks on a lamp?

Does anybody want to buy it?

Any thoughts?

Please help.

Thanx.

I had this problem with one of my Seca 650's. The voltage at the bulb is low. Get out your DVOM and give it a check. I had to install power relays and a 12g ground wire. Its very brite now.

So it is possibly low power at the brake light when the engine is running?? I will give it a check. Power relays on the brake light curcuit might amend the problem then huh?

Thanx for the tip!
