is it possible to upgrade the old style glass fuse, with a blade style fuse holder. The Z1 only has 1 fuse in the whole freaking bike, simple huh?. The fuse is located off the positive side cable on a fusible link. Can i just wire a blade style 20 amp fuse holder in place of the old one? thanks ( oh yea the bike is a 74 z1 900)

Have done it on mine, works well, and a hell of a lot more reliable IMO, should last longer as well.

As has already been stated, it has been done by many of us. I did the upgrade on my 78 KZ1000 2 yrs ago, thanks to the members on this board. No more hot main fuse and blowing fuses.I even went as far as changing the complete main wire harness on the bike to try to fix the hot fuses, only to find out it was caused by the old fuse holders and glass fuses. After changing to mini-blades, no more problems.

Man you are impatient. You only waited 21 minutes, after midnight on a Friday night before you got frustrated!
;)

Anyway, I found the holy grail of fuseboxes: Part #: AF-CFB4; Desc:4 Circuit ATO/ATC Fuse Block from WiringProducts.com. I just installed in on the 400 rebuild, and it is nice. Can't wait to install them on the 750s...
