I have an 82 750 motor that I put into a 78 650 frame. i used the points ignition from the 650, but I dont think that it works. With the cover off, shouldnt you be able to see a spark from the igntion when you turn the motor over? And also, the points move, but not very much when the motor is turning over? PLEASE HELP!!!! :(

What was wrong with the electronic ignition that came in the 750?

No if you see sparking that is BAD. It means your condensers are fried, or not hooked up right.

The points should be .3-.4 mm apart at max separation (the 650 toolkit comes with a feeler for this width) and touching at the opposite side. You also need to set the timing -- refer to a manual here, you can do it either with a timing gun (easiest) or roughly with an ohmmeter.
