I need help i identifying these carbs.
I know they're mikuni, but I can't find anything on kogyo model carbs.
As you can see a few of the parts are rusted and wearing so i wanted to buy a rebuild kit.
But they look nothing like what I found on the mikuni website

I think what you have there are the very desirable smoothbore carbs. Take a look in the rectangular depression I circled in yellow in the first image below. If there is a little brass bead in there as I show circled in red in the second image below I believe that proves for sure that they are in fact smoothbores. That's a good thing! Ed

Whats so special about these carbs? they work great, but recently have shown some shaky throttle responses at low speed

Aftermarket performance carb, bigger venturi, bigger fuel passages, extra parts. Smoothbore design.

Good carb for the day, bit of a step up over 26's

Since I run these on my 810 cc GPz750 motor let me say this
sell them they are a RACE carb and way to big for a stock street riden KZ650.
you will pull your hair out trying to get them to idle and have good off idle perfomance.

To give you an idea I'm running 25 pilot jet and 125 main jets and it still idles like shit under 1200 rpms
if at all and get's sht for gas milage

(My bike is KZ750 E1 with a stock motor and aftermarket exhaust)
Well that explains a lot! I bought the bike two years ago and it has ALWAYS had minor idle issues. The guy I bought it from bought it from the original owner and got it running to resell.
Redline cycles in Illinois wants $80 an hour for a rebuild/refurbish. But with shipping and labor and parts I suspect I'm better off buying another set of carbs.
Any recommendations? Everything from dime city cycles is hella expensive

(Also 650ed your link is not working)

They are very desirable carbs, but they are a bit large for a stock KZ750 engine. Treat them very carefully if you decide to put smaller carbs on your KZ750. Ed
