They should fit - you might need to support the back of it.

Talk to Z1 Ent, they sell these too - they should know.

Z1Enterprises only carries them in black bwhahaha I have the same Z1 airbox on my 79 KZ1000E1 shaft. The outside diameter of the VM26 or VM28 or VM29 is all the same as far as the venturi that fits into the airbox. I also recommend you support the airbox if fitting to a shafty as there is a lot of room with the stock airbox gone and the carbs plus airbox are a lot of unsuspended weight hanging off the carb holders. Last, Z1Enterprises.com advertises on this site and makes it possible for you to take advantage of KZRider without being asked to fork up donations. You might consider that when selecting a vendor.

I will definatly order from Z1 I dident know they had them I thought they were a hard to find part or something and the 230 or 120 dollor price.. no contest Z1 for sure I have ordered from them once before, a clutch cable and handle and I'm sure i'll be spending alot more there haha. I still have the question of the small hose in the very rear behind the crankcase vent what is that for?

The crooked hose that comes off the airbox on the bottom connects to the crankcase breather. The theory is that any crud coming out the breather will go up into the airbox rather than into the atmosphere. I put a rubber cap on this fitting and leave the crankcase vent open with a hose on it hung over the swingarm.

6, as noted, the vent tube at rear of airbox originally connected to the plenum chamber of the upper rear crankcase.(basicly a crankcase breather, which allows pressure changes to vent into a baffled container, allowing vaporized oil/air to seperate, and oil drain back into engine and vapor to be introduced to airbox, thus eating its own farts. a tidy solution for its, design.since crankcase pressure is kept to a minimum and required no maintenance. one drawback however is with high mileage bikes using paper filters,is that filters can become oil saturated and become restrictive. in this case, a catch bottle or vent filter are opts, since airbox vent is aft of filter, its open or plugged has little consequence.
