Damn that pipe is purdy....
Seriously speaking... Someone send one of these pipes to Plummen so he can get some measurements... He and I spoke of this where he would need one to copy from.
As hard as these pipes are to come buy, I would think it could be re-produced with the right tools... Yes/No?
How the hell did you find/come across this pipe...?

79MKII,
Yes, that was a Yosh pipe. I scored it on Ebay last night. They had a couple different styles over the years. The original had very rounded head pipes, much like the versions that they are selling today. They also had a later version with longer head pipes, while retaining the horizontal tailpipe. Then they upswept the tailpipe, like the header on the Mystery Ship that you attached.
Here is a pic of one that got away several months back.

Lucky You! Congrats! By the time I convinced myself it was the real deal, it was too late to bid.
I just noticed that one above is "the one that got away". I thought you had scored 2 of them recently. They are few and far between...

yeah man...
good on you...i was watching it and hope you got what you were after... it should clean up and restore nice.....it goes to show that they 'are' around still some... and while pricey for a "used" header not a bad deal for a yoshimura product if it is the real deal..... imagine try and price a new one like the guys were showing in the japanese links and you got yourself a deal...congrats...

At $266 that was a good deal considering new V&H is $300 and junk and kerker 500 +. I was going to bid but i have one just like it with the fixed collars. My yosh was new never used(Hung in shop for 25+ years) and came out of japen last year for $300 and $75 to get it here. Plus i just picked up a 1st generation Yoshimura and have a kerker KR racing and a nice old Mac that is aluminum coated.Heres my pipes
This old Mac is one of the better pipes I've seen plus the aluminum coating allows for polishing,,nice
