KZ North American Relay Ride-Leg 3

The flag's in Quincy IL by the Mississippi river, headed for Chicago in a week or two

I could. Let's just see how things pan out. I have the body work. I still need to sort out the brakes and I need to get some things but I could take them from the 79 just for that. That shouldn't be a problem. I am just concerned about the engine build.

Packed up and ready to roll, currently 35 deg. but it's going to hit 55 deg by noon when Mr and Mrs Rainman and I are scheduled to meet at Rice lake.

Well, glad to see flag is in motion. My bike isn't quite ready for that trip and doesn't look like it will. Just dropped a friend off at airport or I'd totally be in on that ride.

Only 239.5 miles

Jim an Mecca Rainman are doing over 300, we all rode back up my direction about 40 miles because they were going to visit her sister for a while, Jim took us on a nice bypass around Peoria that I had never been on.

It was a chilly for the ride down along the Illinois river but I got to Rice lake a little early and heated up some soup and coffee which was ready about the time they showed up with their lunch .

Jim and Mecca are awesome people I wish we had more time to hang out.

A south wind kept building all day and helped push me home until I headed East and had to deal with it sideways :woohoo: "35 mph gusts expected"
They had to head right into it, I'll bet they are tired when they get home.

I wanted to do a little more riding but with the way the wind was knocking dead limbs onto the road and blowing debris around I decided to head home, made it just before it started drizzling
