Ed, The Flag on this ride went through the entire state of Nebraska from Bellevue, NE in the Omaha area to the Northwest. It then went into eastern Wyoming, across this great state to Jackson, WY for a total logged distance of 970 miles. Yes, only one new state was added, Wyoming but the ride spanned nearly 1/3 of the entire Continental U.S.A. Kaw-a-holic is now holding the Flag and has moved it into Montana. He is a true enthusiast. I am proud to say that I have passed The KZ Rider North American Relay Rider Flag on to him.

UPDATE: I am now home, 5 days out and back of which 4 days were spent riding and relaying The Flag. The total round trip distance was 1,845 miles on our bikes. I also drove about 860 miles round trip from Sugar Grove, IL to the Omaha, NE area. SaxJonz is on his way home at this moment. He is an hour to the east in Chicago. I offered him a bed but he misses his family and will be home very soon.

We had a great time and a fantastic ride/adventure. We are very appreciative of all of the great support and assistance along the way. My sincerest thanks go out to Goodfastncheap and his lovely wife, L. They were the BEST HOSTS and supported us even as we came back into the Omaha area by bringing my truck & trailer closer to us. Also, got to meet one heck of a nice young man, Jason. He has this thing for old Kawasakis, especially KZ650s. I am also proud to say I am in possession of Pete's Fuzzy Exotic Animal Balls. So many things to say about this trip. I will save much of this with some pictures I plan to post in the Relay Ride Photo Thread. First some rest.

That's quite a ride! It says something not only about the riders (real motorcyclists!) but also about the good ole KZ's ability to still run the distance after so many birthdays. Glad everyone made it back safely. Ed

Thank you Motor Head! Thank you. Hope to meet you and others on a ride in the near future!

Here is a link to the route/ride we took from the Omaha area to Jackson, WY. We retraced our steps coming back. Here is the link. >>> goo.gl/maps/Cki02

BTW, as you may know, Kaw-a-holic is posting in the NorthWest Leg Thread. Myself and others have been kicking an idea around once this Flag passes around to a few more KZ Riders. Will post up un momento.

I make a motion that once The KZ Rider North American Relay Flag has passed through as many more riders as possible in the Rockies, NorthWest, Canada, and maybe Alaska, We have a Rally celebrating this. I further make the motion that the final KZ Rider Relay hand off be made at on The Four Corners. You all may be familiar with The Four Corners: Where Utah, Arizon, New Mexico, and Colorado all meet up.

Here is a link >>> en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:US_160_map.png

We can can rally as many who have signed it AND ALL others who would like to participate. There are some awesome roads in Colorado. That state can serve as a main rally point. You know a place like this. >>> www.uteblufflodge.com/Default.aspx
This location is motorcycle friendly and has hosted rallies before. If anyone knows of another place, then post up your suggestions. This can be just the beginning of a great group of motorcycle brothers and sisters getting together through the common bond of KZs. This rally would be open to any motorcycle. Some of us would of course bring a KZ or two and keep it relevent. I mean come on. A KZ will be needed to meet up at the Four Corners from someone from Arizona or New Mexico. This could be something rally great, er really great! :silly:  B)

We can then rally, ride, bond, ride, rally, did I mention bond? :cheer: as we celebrate The Relay Flag at The Four Corners! Here are a couple of routes with beginnings and ends in South Fork, CO where the Ute Bluff Lodge is located. >>>>

AND, Here is a possible route from The Ute Bluff Lodge to ride out to the Four Corners! >>>

Am I planting a seed? Who is with me here or somewhere for a RALLY?!!! :woohoo: B)

Forrest:

That's a great idea. As long as my work schedule will allow for it, I'd be very interested in attending a rally in Colorado.

Butler Maps has a Colorado-specific map with motorcycling roads identified and classified. A quick look at one of those will help identify a good meeting location. www.butlermaps.com/Motorcycle-Road-Maps/1/Colorado-Map

By the way, South Fork is not far from Monte Vista and I know Monte Vista has additional lodging, restaurants, etc. just in case the Ute Bluff Lodge is unavailable.

There's an outfit in Gunnison, CO that rents motorcycles (V-Strom 650s) and they have day trips all mapped out for motorcyclists in all four compass directions.
