Ronnie, that's great we could use a little help in the New England area. Either add yourself to the map: g.co/maps/jw7te or let us know what city you are in and one of us will add you.

I think it's time to start planning the East Coast leg of this run in earnest.
Those of us on the East Coast are going to have a lot to talk about when trying to work out who's doing what/when and I don't want to clutter up an already long thread with all those logistical details.
So I've started a new thread for this purpose.
As we make decisions I'll be sure to update this thread so the whole group will stay informed.
I'm willing to coordinate this East Coast leg, but someone else is going need to pick it up after that. The flag is either going to end up in Newfoundland or Miami at the end of our leg. We haven't decided which yet. So another KZRider member will need to take it on after that.
I expect we'll cover the following states/provinces on our leg of the run.
Newfoundland
New Brunswick
Nova Scotia
Maine
New Hampshire
Vermont
Massachusetts
Connecticut
Rhode Island
New York
New Jersey
Delaware
Maryland
Virginia
West Virginia (?)
North Carolina
South Carolina
Georgia
Florida
West Virginia is iffy. It's not really East Coast, but we don't have any riders from there signed up yet. We could probably dip into WVA just to make sure it gets done, otherwise it'll fall to hypnohio or someone else in southern OH to do it.

Hey Topper, why don't you PM all the riders on the east coast route and get their status. Some my not have their bikes ready, so you can get a time line with regards to the rider's response and commitment. For example, my bike is in the process of being painted. Will still need a month to sort everything else out (new forks, go over the breaks and some reliability test runs). But each individual rider can give you their own status and you can plan with more information at hand. They can also suggest on what they are willing (how many miles) they can ride or who they would like to pass the flag onto with regards to the KZR'er closest to them. I was looking at the map and can hook up with Jydog in GA (6 hrs 19 min away from me), I can meet him half way. Halfway would be a 6 1/2 round trip for me. Doable for me as far as I'm concerned. Hopefully the 900 is up to task. Or, I evan wouldn't mind meeting in Savannah. Anyhow, just my .02

Hi Ronnie, you have to have a google account and be signed into it at the time you go to the rally map. Then you will see an red edit button. You can see my instructions in one of my prior posts on this thread. Good luck.

KZJOE900, I might be able to meet you in Panama City Beach FL providing I get my bike done in time and it is in good enough shape to ride 250 miles back home. Maybe enaz1 could meet me in Griffn GA. A Panama City Beach to Biloxi leg is another possibility for me also. That might be a little closer for you and a nice trip along the coast.

Sure, Panama City would mean an 11 hour round trip for me. Two hours more than meeting you half way up the I75. But a heck of a lot more interesting. So what are you proposing JYDog, that we meet for Spring Break in Panama City?

Need your thoughts on something. If the flag ends up at the end of one leg of the ride in some remote place isolated from other riders (like Newfoundland ) can we ship it to it's next destination or does it have to make the whole trip on two wheels?
Over in the East Coast thread it's been pointed out that they do this with the Olympic torch.
The flag would still be ridden on a vintage kaw in every state (and hopefully Canadian provideces too). We just might get some assistance from UPS to connect different legs of the ride.
It makes a difference in when/where we can start.
Ok? Or not Ok?
