I scrubbed my wheels with scouring pads, and 400 sandpaper, then painted them with self etching primer then with NHT wheel paint, they're not too bad, but I'd rather have mags, I think.

can't forget the primer, before you paint the wheels, it will hold up better. I'm probably going to do a clear coat too to make it even better.

I have a brand new set of rear spokes too, I couldn't find front spokes...now what I'd like to do is have the spokes copper plated, and the rims chrome.

I wish the line on the side would have matched a line from the tank line to the fender line: bottom of tank to top of fender.

Just noticed - the CSRs are 81-83.
If you want cast alloy wheels, the 750-4 is probably a direct swap. For the rear, the 550Ltd.

OK it took abut 20 minutes.




now, I have a question. On this piece here below, 1 - Brushed, 2 - polish, 3 - powder flat black.


the left side is lightly sanded with 400, the right side is highly polished.

I prefer the brushed, since it's easier to keep up, cause if it scratches, just get a piece of sandpaper.

Those 550 wheels would look great

I'll check the title at work, the guy who sold it to mw swore it was a 1980 model, but I know what you mean they were 81s.

The title says 1981 for sure as we suspected. The forks are stock 650 forks, 36mm. (not 37mm like I posted before)

I thought the biggest factor is the width and diameter of the axle that the wheel came from to determine which it will go on.

Heck, there is a bearing shop here in Omaha that can match almost any inner and outer diameter with about any thickness, I also have a buddy who owns a machine shop who can make any spacer I need too.

I'm basically set for making any wheel fit, as long as the wheel OD and width don't change by much.

The forks are probably from a 750-Ltd-4.

HMM,,,,after looking at my ebay purchase history, they were from a KZ750.

Now the previous axel fits, and the previous fender fits too.

They are a touch longer overall, and the bottom section of the forks is about 2 inches shorter then the 650 while the upper section of the fork is longer than the 650.

The forks came with two new brake calipers too.
