Leon,

Yes it is a rusted, chrome finish (lol) ..... I think I cam going to coat it with a ceramic, silver coating that resembles a brush stainless appearance.

I know this is stepping ahead a bit, but since I am almost done with the frame modifications, what color should I do the frame in? High gloss black? Almost chrome? Dark Grey? Somethign with a gold or bronze? The paint will be Jaguar Racing Green with a gold and silver pin stripe. Thining if I do the frame in almost chrome or silver, would do the engine in satin black with the edges of the fins sanded and polished. Thoughts?

I had a bright blue frame before this last rebuild. I went with black powdercoat this time around because I didn't want to have to redo the frame again if I wanted to change the paint on the bodywork. I love the look of colors on the frame but they say powder coat is super tough to remove if you ever want to change it. Just my $.02.....

Yeah I hear you. I powder coat all my bikes as it is tough and looks really good when done well. The more I think about it, may go with a mirror black as the frame is not meant to be the center piece of the bike. Still been thinking about a matching green or a silver...hmmm

It was a tough call for me and I don't feel real strong about it either way really. Maybe a compromise would be to go with whatever color you like but use paint instead of powdercoat?? Then again I like what you're saying about the frame not being the centerpiece. Hmmmmm indeed.... :)

Consider the frame a pin stripe, an accent so to speak. We been kicking around the idea of weighing a painting frame and then weighing the same frame powder coated. Street bike, doesn't really matter, true street fighter, mind the ounces and the pounds will find themselves ;) .
That being said, black goes with everything on the chassis but that's not to say there isn't better colors but if you miss the correct color, it's a bear to get it changed. :(

I know. There is some options like a copper or gold flake in the black PC so it kinda color shifts a little. I need to make up my mind 'cause it is getting close to finishing out the fab and strip down to the bare chassis and PC it...

Thought about the chrome PC....would go with all the polished and gold accents....

Now something like the metal flake in the black or even the chrome would go with just about anything. I hadn't heard of the metal flake option or I might have gone with something like that. Do you know of any pictures around of that stuff? I bet it looks cool....
