I bought an Acewell gauge, the same one you have wired to yours.

You said it was easy to wire to your bike, but I am a little confused on the wiring...

Looking at the wiring guide Acewell sent, they have a pretty simple setup:

www.acewell.co.uk/manuals/ACE-2853-A-Wiring.pdf

But where they have one wire for a turn signal indicator, for example, my bike's wiring diagram shows 2 wires for each turn signal indicator. What's up with that?

I also am not completely sure which wires from my bike I need to use to hook up to the gauge's ground, clock power, switch key, fuel, etc., again, cuz a lot of those wires on my diagram show 2 wires leading to the hookup.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I just wired my acewell up but i did not use indicators, i also rewired my bike from scratch. I'll bet the single wire for each indicator splices into the positive for each respective indicator. Think of them as sensor wires as the clock is already grounded & with each flash they get a pulse to light your Acewell gauge

Check your bikes wiring diagram at the back of the manual before cutting wires
The ground can go to the frame or maybe splice into a black wire but check the gnd colour 1st
Clock power is a constant live so you could wire direct to the battery (or look at diagram & use a wire)
Do your lights come on with your ignition? If so the switch key live could wire to that?
Fuel, don't know, i dont have a gauge so i didnt use it.

Try to grab a diagram with color if you already haven't. You'll notice on every diagram however, one of the wires from each light is tied to all the rest. With the Acewell gauge this all goes away because it shares a common ground within the gauge. I'm working on my fork swap at the moment, but I'll post a bunch of pics later and include the gauge wiring.

Connections are as follows. The Black plug is what led up to the old gauges cluster. If you need further clarification let me know. This is for a '78 KZ650B so you may have some differences.

Acewell -> Bike

BLUE PLUG
Grey -> Blue w\ Red Stripe
White -> Grey
Light Green -> Red w\ Black Stripe
Light Blue -> Green w\ White Stripe
Purple -> Green w\ Red Stripe
Orange -> Green

WHITE PLUG
Black -> Black w\ Yellow Stripe
Brown -> Constant 12v Source (Battery)
Red -> Brown
Blue -> Not used (Fuel Gauge not on my bike.)

In other news I got my triple trees back from Leon (531blackbanshee), and new tapered bearings from AllBalls, Nissin radial master cylinder, and a ZX-6R clutch lever assembly. Absolutely amazing work by Leon, I would recommend him for anyone doing the swap. THANKS!!!

Still have some tidying up to do, but she should be ready to go this weekend!!!

How much ride hight did you loose going to the GSXR forks, 17" wheel plus mounting the clip ons above the triple? Have you measured it yet? I'm curious B)

I'm not sure, but I can measure. I have a HoHey drop tree and risers for different bars, so that's 2" back right there. It will def be shorter than factory, but I'll find various ways of raising it back up.

EDIT!

I ran across this diagram of a simple harness for my bike, and I'm going to make it. I'm starting to get a kick out of wiring haha, God help me!

Got some more goodies today.

The rubber might almost be too soft of a compound, makes my cars tires feel like a brick, but I'm sure she'll corner like a dream ;) I may get harder tires next season.

Well I got the bike all together. Just waiting on my front wheel, which was forgotten in California. The new harness is great, can't see a wire anywhere now.

And my new headlight I'm waiting to mount. I don't have access to a welder at the moment so I need to find someone to weld the bracket onto my triple. Going to leave the ring and visor chrome, and powder coat the housing black.

Thanks for the comments! I've got your thread bookmarked lol. I'm going to be doing an 810 kit this summer, and you're thread is very helpful.
