The rear section of the frame in the last pic is a cut off from an earlier KZ streched out quite a bit but it just wasn't cuttin' it. Kent was in the shop trying different subframes on the first bird, one of them was a 94 GSXR an' I took some measurements off it, OH YEAH. You'll see the "parts bike" soon.

got one pic out of order, Here's the parts bike. BB25 turbo, 3" over stock arm, 18" lester mags, 9.89@136mph, 145hp. I rode this thing for 8yrs in many different iterations, I used to swap parts & body work just to mess with people, didn't really care what it looked like. but it always RAN. Did a LOT of bracket racin' with this one. Got enough wheel up shots to start another thread. Anyone?

In the first pics you'll notice the alum links. In this pic notice the grey ends made out of steel with bearings pressed in the 2 top ones. Reason for this is so simple "dogbones" could be made out of strap for ride height adjustment. also notice the modified honda F2 shock, higher spring and dampening rates for the longer arm. The rear suspension is COMPLETELY adjustable.

Coulda fit a 12 pack under the seat before all the MSD stuff got fitted, only a 6 after. Mock up on the offset support plate. How ya like my mock up motor, made the header & secondary pipe on that too.

Moving along now. Used a 76 KZ 900 wiring harness because I had a real nice one in stock, also I like the early handlebar switches with headlight off position. Stock harness on one side, custom secondary harness on the other. Secondary was required for all the MSD an' boost control stuff. Its on a large terminal strip so it can be easily tested or modified. Many people told me a rearsump oilpan wouldn't work on the street, NOT!, perfected it on the parts bike and improved it on the shaft. Two turbos and 8 yrs of service, no prob. anybody out there?

Cover for the support plate was fabricated from the remains of the shaft cover. Welded an' polished. Sharp guys out there will notice the GPZ charging system, and know that it must have a GPZ crank. Well it did till the magnet hub spun on the crank an' messed up the cone. Now its got a mk2 and a little more compression. You don't need 8 to 1 compression to run a turbo. the parts bike was a 1075 with 10 to 1, not a typo, limited to 15 lbs of boost on 100oct low lead. That bike didn't need much room to get you in trouble. It didn't like traffic on hot days but I think changing the advance curve a little more woulda improved it.

The shaft got off the shelf 9 to 1 Weisco 1075 pistons. They hold up fine, MTC quit making KZ pistons. the biggest thing is to make it strong, you don't need a lot of tricky stuff. It did get MTC thick walled tool steel wrist pins, MTC pin buttons (never use clips if you can), APE studs top an' bottom, an' conversion sprockets for high lift GPZ cams (good enough for Brian Bennets championship winning funnybike). Mildly ported GPZ head with .500" lift valve springs on stock valves an' conversion idler sprocket are all standard stuff. Copper headgaskets leak oil so the oil passages were plumbed external. I saw a guy break a wristpin at the track once, not pretty. If you lifted the seat you could see the front tire! Rods make very effective fan blades. I have seen pentaroof 4 valve motors survive 30lbs of boost with stock 11 to 1 compresion. Don't try it on a semihemi KZ motor you couldn't make any power with the timing retarded enough to make it live. The shaft can survive 10 lbs of boost on the street with 93oct but I always ran a mix of 100 oct low lead. Track fuel c16 (116oct) at 30lbs of boost an' good egt makes 250 hp. Standard FF40 stuff

A mold of a stock ducktail was widened an' streached to make the one you see. A Canatuna (Katana) 1100 seat was narrowed in the front, recovered with the stock tuna cover, an' the Gixxer seat latch set up. The tail light is 2 KZs cut in half an' glued together an' filled with leds, it even has led turns in the taillamp

Any particular reason you run avgas in your bike? Alot of aircraft owners get STC's to run auto gas. Last time I was in Florida, avgas wasn't cheap! I remember thinking some VP 110 race fuel would have been cheaper than getting fuel at Opa Loca
