No Patton you weren't paying attention... :pinch: Due to under rated ground conductor thus low charging configuration, battery as well was at 11.8 Vdc so coil mod would not do a damn thing...

Actually due to mechanical relay coils current requirements to activate, I would have had less voltage on the battery due to increased load/current demands... :P

Well the build continues....

Long story short, #3 cam cap broke in half ~ 1000 miles of last build.... New cap in place out for a ride it just didn't feel right, something was wrong... Off with the head and found a bent #3 intake valve.... :pinch: Ordered a new SS valve & off to Larry they go for correct length, thanks mi amigo!

After the engine blew last year, never was comfortable with the original webcams (.265), should have listen to my gut feeling about those cams... :pinch:

Well with that in mind, said screw it, time for the 1075cc and GPZ- 1100 camshafts.... B)

So here we go.... Again!

Pit Stop Performance: $580 Complete 1075cc MTC piston/ring kit, gaskets, wrist pins & teflon buttons... And this includes boring of the cylinder!!!! You just can't beat the price all....B)

I was very impressed with their packaging, cylinder bolted to plywood for protection... Overall, very pleased... Thanks Joe Hooper!

For those of you interested, the old base gasket came off cleanly due to during the installation, copper gasket spray... Magical Shit in a Can, is awesome! ;)

Now for the GPZ 1100 cams (measured cams for .375 lift) & APE 2 bolt 30 tooth sprockets (p# ACS900K-2B), you'll need to open up the journals a tad for 360 degree free rotations.

Home made valve tool.... $~ $15... Thanks you HFT! ;)
NOTE Bottom left image: Less stiff spring in #1 intake / exhaust valves, makes degreeing a breeze! Thanks for the tip Larry!!!... B)

GPZ 1100 journal touch ups... Since the cam cap bolt threads where shit, inserted new Heli-Coil threads! Lapped the valve seats as well...

Cam degreeing... Head decking verified, Degreed Intakes @ 106 and exhausts @ 108.... Life (acceleration) will be good! B)

Engine is all together, so all I have now is install the exhaust, using a fan start her up for no more than 5 minutes. Let her cool down completely and re-torque... Than off for a ring break in ramp up/ramp down rpm range.

KZ life will be mine again....

Hey Rock, I see you're still at it... outstanding project and posting. This is the stuff that makes KZRider a premier site for the non-stupid biker :P

And yes you are forgiven for you irreverence towards the venerable "Power Coil Modification".   ... but I'm still keeping mine. Hell its the only thing that keeps it going.

Man get that gorgeous rocket ready for the Payson run. B)
