If it's really totally stock and in good shape, have you considered selling it, using the funds to buy something that's not stock or has already been modified (since you'll be changing it to your own taste anyway), and using the leftover $$ to buy some goodies (like a custom seat, bars, etc.). Totally stock bikes bring better $$ than most modified bikes, so by selling it you should be able to build your dream bike without breaking the bank. You may even want to consider a KZ750 twin as the narrower engine gives a cleaner look to a bobber/cafe type, and they don't cost a ton.

Whichever approach you take, follow aaron3874's advice and lay it all out on paper first. That way you can estimate the cost of any pieces you need to buy or have made and be sure to get it set up the way you want the first time.

Thanks for the comments.. It performs relly well with the single carb. I actually gained power once I got the carburetor jetted properly. The first time I installed it, the old choke plunger leaked air and would backfire the carburetor off the bike. Once I got a new push/pull choke lever, it ran great.

thanks for the info brother..i just am thinking i plan on changing some stuff on it..but i will most likely never cut this bike i want keep it as stock as i can but still have some goodies on it...i could never part with this bike lol had no worries letting the others go but no chance with my baby lol...i would like to find a kz750 twin to lets say change one or 200 things on it..

Hey aaron, what size jets did you end up using to tune your bob. I am very interested in possibly using that mikuni carb and possibly doing that 2-1 intake manifold. you said you used 3 90* bends, did you also use a 3 way connector? any instructions for either would help a ton.

I was trying to come up with a good way to do this and you've just given me the perfect one. what size jets did you use? I'm gonna use a slide operated Mikuni vm 36, but the jets should be the same.
