Big hi to everyone out there. Looks like a great site. I'm off in a few days to pick up my first Kawasaki, she an 81 750 LTD. She looks in great shape, and hopefully runs as good. New to Kawasaki and am looking forward it. I'll post pictures on my return. Hey I'm wondering what things are typically good to worry about with the Kawasakis when getting an new bike to you.

Just a few things for you to consider would be to check the valve clearance and do an oil and filter change. I would inspect/replace the air filter and spark plugs. Check water level in battery and charge, if needed. You should have electronic ignition on your bike, but you will want to take out the mechanical timing advancer and lubricate it. Those are just a few things.

Hi AZR, welcome to the site. If the bike runs well, I'd change the oil/filter/plugs and clean air filter (like GPz recommended). Depending on if the bikes been run alot maybe flush out the gas tank with new gas.
If the bike runs rough or not at all, I'd start with valve clearances and cleaning the carbs...those were issues on my 750. Also, if you need an electronic copy of the Factory Manual (the best), you can go to Wired George's Tech Forum at www.wgcarbs.com and he has a download section with the manual in it.
Good Luck
