 My Schwinn Apple Krate was about $86.00 Dollars brand new in 1968
The first editions like mine have the seat sprung at all three points, ( Front has a spring to save your nuts )
After that the front seat post was a pivot point only  ( No spring )
Repop slick back tire  . I still have original tires
I take it to motorcycle shows and it gets more attention that a lot of motorcycles

I am lucky that I got to see Roger Penske's backdoor factory Chevy Z28's race back in the late '60's. It was Ford versus Chevy. Parnelli Jones and Mark Donohue beating on each other weekend after weekend!!!!! Those were the days!!!!!

 

I was into model kits for a couple years as a kid, sort of as a way to have things I thought I'd never afford. I didn't have the patience I have now, but I got a couple good ones knocked out before I lost my drive.

 

I dabbled in luthiery for a year, never got serious enough to be any good. I'd like to get back into it despite having no playing skills. I like building and tinkering more than using the things I make, really.

I also love to cook.

My latest finished model. Its Darrell Waltrip's Western Auto Chevy Lumina. It depicts D.W.'s car as he ran it at Phoenix back in 1992. The paint job took me months to get it right!!!!
I added the fuel overflow tube, valve stems, wheel weights, and plug wires installed in the correct firing order!!!!

That's quite a stash you have there Gamma. My bloody bike is at a friends place about half an hour away, haven't been able to work on it for a couple of weeks, I suppose it gives me more time to order stuff i don't really need...!!  I'm immunosuppressed so even with vaccination, I've had my two doses, I'm still at risk, time to move to the country..
I spent nearly a year in hospital about 20 years ago, making world war two model planes kept me almost sane, always been a fan of those old propeller fighter planes...

My other favorite is my 1965 olds 442. First year of the  400 motor,auto,posi rear.She is a driver with just over 100k miles.
