I have a 1983 kz750 Ltd F1 4cyl.
Wiring was trashed so trying to rewire and need help. If anyone has a simple wiring diagram I’d appreciate it. Just the basics. IGN turn and lights. It has two ic igniters.
Thanks!

Two igniters? The voltage regulator is kind of similar in appearance, so maybe one of them is that.

a few of the diagrams may be missing, but most are there. If you don't find a 750-F1, I guess a 750N Spectre might be similar since those are also shaft drive. or maybe a 750-H3 or L3 which are the same year as the F1.

I’m not sure either. I have a regulator but both of these other units have ic igniter stamped on them. Both have same colored wiring.
I’ll look through these and thank you.

They were both mounted on the battery box along with the regulator. Ok. Sounds like it was replaced and the old one left on. Neither was hooked up.

If you don't know which is which, the igniters may have part numbers on them, so you might be able to figure out which one is the original or what they're from. The 750-F1 should be 21119-1055. some of the other 750 igniters are 21119-1040 & there may be others. I would test them >> the service manual should have resistance checks.

The larger one is much older. I doubt it would have come on a 1983 model.
I think all of the 1981 and later igniters were the smaller square type.

They are interchangeable, electrically. So if the small one is the original, the larger one is likely a replacement, which presumes the small one is bad. Or they could both be replacements.

Either wayyou just have to hook them up to see if they are good. Keep an eye on the coils. If you don't get spark and a coil gets hot, the igniter is most likely bad, assuming there is no other wiring error.

Unfortunately, I don't have any Kz diagrams for shaft drive models to draw from. I don't expect it to be very different from a chain drive diagram, but there will still be some details that need to be determined. If anyone has a link to the 83 Kz750F1 model diagram, that would be great.
