I have searched high and low for a new speedo cable for my bike and bought one from Z1 enterprises with it saying it would fit my KZ right when it came in on the bag it said KZ 650/750. Right connections just 2 inches short! Does anyone know where I can buy the right one! Thanks in advance.

Have you tried Kawasaki?  I've ordered OEM cables through Partzilla for my Z1's.
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

Contact Z1 Enterprises & they should make it right.  Don't let 'em slide on their mistake.

Yes, I could get one from kawasaki but they were 3 times the price and over a week out. I have found some OEM ones online now. I will try to get one out of Z1 if they won’t then I will try D2moto they say they have one. Thanks!

Partzilla has it for $22, but I am sure Z1E will make it right.

If you are buying cables for the motorcycle pictured in your avatar, don't order a cable for an A1 as it will always be too short. The A1 should have the caliper mounted in front of the fork leg and they used a short cable that shot more or less straight down from the speedo to the wheel. KZ650B1 for 1977 was the same setup. Next year in 1978 when they moved the caliper behind the fork leg, they then routed the cable behind the caliper, so it takes a cable a bit longer. Be sure and get the cable for the A2 if you want it long enough (with any luck), as your calipers behind the legs need the longer cable.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

Carson, the cable we sold you was correct for the KZ1000-A1. Your bike is not 'all original' - it isn't even close to being all original. It has the forks reversed with the calipers behind the forks - and as a consequence, needs a 2" longer cable. When you look at the calipers on your bike, you will see the bleed nipples point back to the engine...

Your bike is a mix of KZ900 bodywork with some LTD and aftermarket parts on a KZ1000A. The KZ1000-A1 came with a single front disk - with the caliper ahead of the forks. It also came with a nice 4-2 exhaust - and not a turnout exhaust - nor did it have an LTD seat when it left the factory,.

If you don't trust my knowledge of your bike, post a picture of it for others to help you understand what you have...

We would like to - and we have tried to help Carson... I think the ball is in his court at the moment.

The cable he needs would normally be used on the LTD model - which did have the calipers behind the forks. Our part number is TU06-3123

You should have measured the one the broke on your bike, as I said I have a pile of them. I was going to give it to you for free, and have you just pay the shipping.
