air leak

I recently bought a 1978 kz650sr. Great bike. Only 10k, bone stock. I recently noticed when she is warming up one of the carbs has an air leak up front. I can see a mist of fuel spraying from between the carb mount and engine. Any thoughts?

Probably broke a carb intake manifold, they are rubber seamed to metal and they seperate. Time for some new manifolds, clean out you carbs/ kit them, and check the connectors to the air cleaner housing as those may need replacing as well.

Thanks for the info, doesn't sound that difficult to do. The guy I bought it from said he recently cleaned the carbs and I also noticed no. 2 and 3 has missing spring clamps. cheers.

Have you got a proper repair manual for your bike? If stuff is missing/ etc from the last guy I would be pulling the carbs apart while I had em off as they can take awhile to get back in, much harder with old air boot to the air box.
