Hi folks,
I'm new to this forum but a longtime lurker and GPz550 addict (I've owned about 10 of them). I'm selling a set of Keihin "CR26 Special" carbs that are set up for an '81 GPz 550. They will bolt right on that year. I've attached pictures showing them on my bike. They are off the bike now, but this shows how nicely they fit. They should also fit 82-85 style heads, but will need different spigots since those heads have bigger intake boots.
The carbs are in like new condition, maybe 250 miles on them. At most. I'm selling because they were a little too peaky for my taste. I took them off several years ago and I ended up converting the bike to CV carbs from a Zephyr (and using a later '82-85 head that would accept the larger intakes needed for the Zephyr carbs). The CRs have been sitting in their original box since then. I thought I might use them on another project but that hasn't happened so it's time to pass them on to someone who can use them.
They will come with an extensive selection of jets: 10 sets of needles, 8 sets of mains, 4 sets of pilots. They will also come with K&N filters. All told I've got this much into the carb:$1060 carbs (from Sudco)$500 machining the spigots$160 K&Ns
$592 in jetting$2312 TOTAL (it hurts just to type that)I'd take $700 for the whole lot.I couldn't find any CR26 on ebay to gauge used prices, but there are some CR29 on there. $1000-1200 and without jetting, K&Ns and (priceless!) bolt-on convenience.
