GPZ750 turbo head + KZ750E + which cams?
11 Sep 2016 12:35
Hi guys,
I can get a GPZ turbo head fairly cheap for my KZ750 motor.
Is the turbo head an upgrade or is it only the regular GPZ head? Better flow? Bigger valves?
Also, I believe the turbo cams are worse than the stock KZ cams? Is that correct?
Any modifications needed to fit head? I've also read somewhere it has a bigger combustion chamber so I'll effectively be lowering the CR by doing this. Still worth it? I'll be running a 810cc kit.

I thought the Turbo had a lower compression ratio than the ordinary bike.

11 Sep 2016 13:34 - 11 Sep 2016 15:26From the parts diagrams at Kawasaki.com or Partzilla the 750 Turbo has the same camshafts as the KZ650. I don't know what else is different from the 750E, if anything. The Turbo has the same valves as a number of the 750-4 models.G-tron wrote: ... stick with the kz 750 head or gpz 750 head . use gpz 750 cams if your going with the 810 kit .

Can anyone post combustion chamber comparative pictures of the '83 (late) GPz750 head and the standard 82 and older 750? I never knew they were that different, but now hear one is a "bathtub" like the late 1100....

Thanks guys,
glad I checked in on the forum before buying. Will stick with my KZ setup until I find n/a GPZ cams.
Is porting/flowing the stock head worth the trouble at all?

One thing to realize is that the later heads got rid of the mechanical tach drive.

Best I know is the N/A and turbo head isthe same casting they have diff. part number's because the turbo
head is drilled and taped for a temp senser. Both my N/A head's have the boss it's just not drilled.
