What I was thinking was some PC7. Buildup a "deck" on the inside of the mounting surface of the clutch cover window so that there's no bevel and it's just flat. PC7, once hardened, is tap and thread safe... so one *could* tap it, thread it, make a oil resistant neoprene gasket to sandwich in there, and mount the window with some small screws.

Just an idea. :)

i am working on a ring for the outside to distribute the clamping force. i am still tossing around the idea of an o-ring. got too many projects on the burners right now that the 650 is not coming in the shop till february.
i may try to make a acrylic window that wil come through from the inside i just do not have a motor here to check for clearance with the clutch, so i think i will make it both ways till the bike comes in
the main problem i have is i am extremely cheap and i do not like to buy anything that i can make. so i am not going to buy the aluminum plate for the ring, instead i will pound up a mold, cast it, machine it, all to save about 5 dollars...oh the life of a shop teacher.

It would be cool to have all that shop stuff to work with. Are your students as enthusiastic?

teaching metal shop really affords me the time to experiment with different ideas
