Yesterday I about killed myself and said this is going to hurt. I decided to pass some older lady on a back road in a no passing zone. Right when i came up on her she sped up and the oncoming car was coming way to fast. I hit the brakes front and back but must have laid into the back and there I am sideways With a car coming at me. Thought for sure i was going to high side but some how some way i Got it back under control. I pulled over walked back and looked at the 60 foot of skid marks and smoked a couple cig before i calmed down. I will never leave home with out my leathers again and I will not pass in any dumb ass way again.

Peter, when the time comes, the time comes. Yes, should never tempt fate. A 69 year old man got hit and died as he was walking just outside of the front entrance of my neighborhood yesterday. No more than 400 yards from my house. A seventeen year old girl in an SUV hit him on a straight road on a sunny clear day around 11:00 AM. Very sad. Gland you're alright.

Pucker factor 10.......plus bad riding

Really bad riding! He had plenty of time to brake. Maybe no one explained to him how stop a bike? :S Ed

You gotta wonder what would motivate a person to post that video. I promise that I would delete that one in a hurry. But then I'm not the sort to go stuffing my bike between two rigs.

Apart from the obvious lack of riding skills and poor observation on the rider's part (two cars braking while he accelerates)....it does illustrate that in a panic situation we don't always do what we think we do. How hard do we really use that front brake in an emergency? It can be hit quite hard.....something we could actually train ourselves to do. How do you think you do in an emergency braking situation?
